Doaland and Wudang Taijiquan Retreat

[português]

For those who are thinking of joining the Wudang Taijiquan Retreat in Portugal 22-27 November 2018, Daoland founder and teacher Rene Goris introduces himself with this blog. And of course also for the ones who already signed up.

Rene:

So getting into a retreat program is a good idea. You can experience how it is to lead a life as a Daolander, inspired by the infinite wisdom of Daoist traditions, arts and thinking styles.

As a 30 year practicing Daoist I have developed a unique perspective as a westerner. I have made all the mistakes westerners and modern Chinese make and I was unwittingly helped along by the logic of some non-Daoist and some Daoist teachers to become a Daolander. And mostly in defiance of what is thought to be true in the past; that is, in defiance of populist opinion. So my classes and my lectures are not the easiest.

Together with Liesbeth, the organizer and gracious host of the event we have come up with a rough sketch of the program. In it there is a lot of opportunity to satisfy your own curiosity. Besides my program (what I wish to share with you), based on the Daoland Healthcare Manual, among other things, I like you to question me so that the retreat is a communication. Of course I will record much of the classes for later use in the school, this channel and maybe some bits for the public.

Below you find the developing Program Wudang Taijiquan Retreat November 2018. I am still working at it as we go, and a final version will be ready in time. Your input as guests is already appreciated. If you join the Daoland Patreon channel it is easy to enter this discussion. https://www.patreon.com/posts/22094091
