Meditation on Sunday

Meditation is a ‘big’ word and may evoke images of sitting still for hours on end, on the floor with your legs crossed and a straight back; undisturbed by the thoughts that are constantly offered in your head. As if you have disappeared in the silence of the ‘source’.

Can everybody learn to meditate? Yes, everybody can learn that skill. In fact: I think everyone should! For the simple reason that practicing meditation leads to greater awareness and more self-knowledge. These two ingredients can make life easier to understand and therefore lighter.

Meditation soon leads to peace of mind and it will bring you into contact with your physical body, among other things. After regular training you should be able to influence your health and longevity.

The power of meditation is in the repetition. The more you train, the more results.

Coming Sunday we will meditate in the yoga studio. Later when summer begins, we will be meditating again on my farm, in the middle of nature. Whether you are young, old, and agile or have never done anything like yoga or meditation, you are very welcome. The studio provides mats, meditation stools and blankets and even chairs when sitting on the floor is too uncomfortable. Wear comfortable clothing that keeps you warm.

The subject of this Sunday, on which you can start contemplating this week, is:

I know what is essential in my life.
Is that true?
If so, do I give all my attention to the essence or do I get distracted again and again?
If so, by what?

When: Sunday, April 14 from 10:00 to 11:30

Where: Yoga Studio Marvão, Ninho de Empresas, Santo António das Areias

Contribution: € 7 including tea and sweets without sugar, gluten and lactose.
